OpenAI plans to go public, El is an excellent story teller, the title is a bit click baiting but her content is right on the money. Both Anthropic and OpenAI plan to IPO this year and yet neither can see a cash positive situation for several more years, except if they are able to radically reduce the cost of delivering their services.

OpenAI for example spends $1.22 for each $1 of service, not sustainable and certainly not as a public company because the funding has to come from somewhere/someone.
AI has some very clear use cases and some that will cost more than the alternative of using humans to perform the tasks, it is about identifying which is which, and when you don’t know ‘which’ working with experts who can provide guidance on the workflows that make sense.
